Multistatic Active Acoustics

چکیده
OBJECTIVES The specific objective of this project is to develop and validate theoretical and numerical models of the 3-D spatial statistics of the seismo-acoustic field produced by targets on and within a rough elastic seabed. These models are then applied to develop an improved understanding of the dominant physical processes governing the performance of moderate-to-high frequency sonar systems for detection and classification of objects above and below the seabed in shallow water environments.

متن کاملLow Frequency Towed Active Sonar (LFTAS) in Multistatic Applications
The performance potential of multistatic sonar operations has been investigated by several research institutes and proven in numerous international sea trials during the last years. The characteristics of multistatic sonar operation are the use of one or more spatially separated transmitters and receivers, the exchange of the contact or track information as well as the appropriate combination o...
متن کاملWeighted Least Square’s Method for Localization in Multistatic Sonar System
This paper investigates multistatic sonar network for effective deployment and presents efficient fusion algorithms for target localization. Active sonar can be categorized into monostatic, bistatic, and multistatic, depending on the number of receiver elements, and target localization performance may vary according to the element network configuration. Assuming that each element receives both ...
متن کاملGeometry-constrained Degrees of Freedom Analysis for Imaging Systems: Monostatic and Multistatic
In this paper, we develop a theoretical framework for analyzing the measurable information content of an unknown scene through an active electromagnetic imaging array. We consider monostatic and multistatic array architectures in a onedimensional setting. Our main results include the following: (a) we introduce the space-bandwidth product (SBP), and show that, under the Born approximation, it p...
